Liz Wright, Senior Consultant and Principal

Since the start of her consulting career in 1995, Liz has provided expert advice to a variety of industries ranging from the financial sector, energy sector to healthcare.

Prior to joining the firm, Liz was practice leader for the Human Capital Group and Compensation practices at Watson Wyatt Canada ULC., as well as a senior compensation practitioner at the Hay Group.

Prior to her consulting career, Liz was head of the corporate compensation team of a Canadian bank employing more than 35,000 people and ranking in the top ten banks in North America in terms of assets.

With some thirty years in compensation strategy, design and administration, Liz has assisted her clients with numerous projects ranging from compensation strategy, executive compensation, base and variable compensation, sales plans, to managing large survey projects. She is also highly-qualified in respect of the design and implementation of total rewards/compensation strategy and M&A services.

Liz has been instrumental in providing leading edge advice on effective talent management and introducing new approaches to integrated solutions that ensures alignment with business needs and individual performance requirements.

Over her career, Liz has also introduced innovative solutions to benchmarking using technology to underpin efficient and effective delivery to solve client issues and challenges.

Education and Public Profile

Liz graduated with an Honours BA in International Business and Finance from the American International University in London, England and was the recipient of a special achievement award as top student.

Liz is well-known speaker (HRPA, WorldatWork, Conference Board of Canada) and writer, with articles appearing in Canadian HR Reporter and WorldatWork’s Magazine, “Canadian News” in addition to frequent quotes in prominent financial newspapers. Liz is a member of the Advisory Board of the GTA Rewards Association and a member of the Advisory Committee of the HR Graduate Certificate Program at Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning. She is also a member of the Conference Board of Canada’s Compensation Research Committee.
